Zion Century Ride

I am always up for doing something crazy so I decided to bike 100 miles without any training. The tricky part was convincing someone else to do it with me. Cyndee Maki was willing and so we traveled to St. George and spent all Saturday biking. Can't really ask for a better weekend than that.

Oh wait, you could. One biking dude summed it up for me when he pulled up next to me at a light. He said, "It is cold, there is a headwind, and now it is raining!" Yea not the best weekend to bike but I was actually warm as long as I didn't stop. Shortly after the rain started I got a flat tire. I had biked 90 miles and decided I was done for the day. I called for a ride instead of changing a flat at the gas station. Here I am chilling in a covered corner waiting for my ride.

The good new is that I am not sore today so I am predicting it is going to be a great biking year!

I had a complete overhaul done on my bike before the ride. They took my entire bike a part and cleaned everything and replaced all the old not high functioning parts. I must say I was a little skeptical that maybe they were ripping me off, but my bike rode like it was brand new. It was so quiet and smooth. Who knew you needed new parts after over 6000 miles of riding? I am going to try to do a better job of taking care of my bike.

Am I to old for this?

I think these little half beenies are so cute. I really like them and have seen them all around. I finally found one to purchase. I was a little hesitant to wear it at first because I thought maybe I am too old for this but I just think they are so cute. So I wear mine anyways.

However, I am too old to be eating out as much as I did around my birthday. Wow I realized why I always gain weight leading up to Easter. It all starts with my birthday. Keep me outta the restaurants for a while. I had a number of very fun birthday dinner so thanks to everyone that took me out. (Katie don't hate me for putting up this picture but it is the only one I had on my camera.) Yes we each had our own pizza. It was so we didn't have to cook dinner on Sunday.

Consolation

My team plays today in our end of the year tournament. This year they peaked at the right time. They are playing for the consolation championship. They lost their first game to Timpview but have won all the games since. I hope they can pull off the win today. Today is officially my last day of basketball for this year. Win or lose the season is over.

I have been playing lots of basketball and a little soccer on my own as well. I think these two sports make the Utah winters bearable. Especially this year because there has not really been enough snow to snowshoe.

I took Friday off work. I am going to Vegas to hang out with Katie. That means lots of sleep, warm weather, and shopping at our favorite stores. Yea I can't wait for the break. I think I am getting old because the thing I get the most excited about is sleeping in:)
