Looking Forward To . . . . . .

The end of track season on Thursday, it actually went by really fast and I am really glad I decided to coach

Am I aloud to say the end of the school year? 5 weeks to go!!

Biking, biking, and more biking

Using the new backpacking gear I bought

KAYAKING

Family vacation in June

What I am not looking forward to is Alpine Days. I am looking forward to it because it is the last meet of the season but there are two things I am anxious about

1. The stupid coaches relay. I hate that thing because I am no sprinter

2. Getting dunked. Rain is in the forecast and I fear the kids will not be stopped.

Neck Issues

Apparently I have sprained or strained my neck. At least that was what the doctor said. It was very interesting going to the doctor and when they ask why are you here . . . um well this sounds silly but I can't move my neck. Then when they ask you what happened you don't really know. You feel kind of stupid. All I know is that I had been playing basketball for over an hour and all of a sudden my neck locked up and I couldn't move it. No injury involved. WEIRD!

So that happened Monday night and I spent all week trying to not move my head too much. It still is very stiff. I have some range of motion back but not without pain. The two most painful things are 1) getting out of bed. That is a killer and I have not figured out how to do it pain free and 2) putting my hair in a pony tail. Both things are essential so I squirm as I complete the tasks each day.

The doctor said to give it 1-2 weeks but I wonder if we really got the injury right. Hopefully he did. I wish I knew how a muscle, versus nerve, versus tendon and ligaments injuries would feel different so I could better understand what was really going on. All I know is that there is pain.

According to the Doc I can still be active so yesterday for Katie's birthday Cyndee, Katie and I hiked the G in Pleasant Grove. It was a nice little hike. Short and steep. It felt good to be up and out of the house and hiking didn't hurt as long as I didn't turn my head sideways to look at the view. We made it to the top and I must say that the construction of the G itself it very ghetto. It is made out of metal and wires. Interesting . . but you can't tell from the road so I guess it is all good.

Spring Break

It is officially over. Time goes too fast. I only have the weekend left and then it is back to the grind. So sad. My trip home was nice. The drive not as bad as I thought it would be. The highlights were:

1. Seeing my relatives on Easter Sunday. That was something I didn't know would happen.
2. Seeing my niece
3. Helping my Dad search for the perfect tractor.
4. Watching Glee with Caleb, Mom, and Dad.
5. Actually getting to sleep in a bed. Thanks Mom, she kicked Caleb to the living room.
6. Biking to Chico, the weather was perfect as an added bonus.
7. Shopping at Sierra Trading Post in Reno on my way home.
8. Listening to Ben tell Aaron he has sucked at being a man his whole life. Who says that?
9. My Mom making caramel popcorn twice.
10. Buying four books at Costco. I have already read two of them and they were great.
11. Going to McDonalds with Aaron, Alicia, and Angelee and kids. Have not eaten there in years.
12. Seeing my Dads eyebrows. Those things are wild. None of the pictures do them justice.

I had a list of everything I needed to get done today. Instead I read all day. Ok I did two loads of laundry as well. It felt really good to really relax and sleep in. Here are a few pictures from the trip.
