Moab

Amber and I decided we needed a weekend away. We debated for awhile on where to go. In the end Moab was a great option for us. I could bring Moki. It is close to home. It has endless hiking trails. We left Friday after work and got home in time for 1pm church on Sunday. It was a very quick but awesome trip.

We started Saturday morning on the Moab Rim Trail. This is an out and back that can be as long or as short as you want it to be. It's pretty steep to get to the rim, which is at 1 mile in. We felt like it was similar to hiking the way. The trial is called the stairmaster! It was a beautiful morning. On the way up you are hiking up above the Colorado River and then when you get to the rim you can look over the red rock into Moab. We hiked almost 2.5 miles total. We just got to the top and came back because we had so much we wanted to see.
Moki was very happy! Looking down on the river.
After this hike we decided to go check out Mill Creek Falls. A man made waterfall outside of Moab. This was a very easy 1 mile round trip hike that ended at the falls. Moki was stoked to get wet.
It was a pretty warm day and the water was nice.

After the falls we stopped in town and had lunch. Then we headed to Negro Bill Canyon. This is a 4.5 mile hike to Morning Glory Bridge (an arch), which according to the internet is 243 ft long and the sixth largest natural rock span in the United States.
We loved that you followed the river the entire hike. It was shady so it was a little bit cooler. It was dog friendly. This would be an awesome hike for kids.
After the canyon we needed some ice cream and a nap. We got both of those things. We arrived back to camp to this hilarious sight. It was soooo windy in Moab. My tent had collapsed and Amber's tent had lost the rain fly. It was pretty funny.
Once we took care of the tents it was nap time. Moki crashed hard. She was worn out.
After we rested and it cooled down we headed to Corona arch. I love this hike. It is easy but beautiful and dog friendly.
There were not very many people on the trail in the evening. That was really nice.
This time I decided to climb up to the top of the arch. They used to have cables to help you do that but they took them down after someone died swinging off of the arch. It was fun to go to the top. The arch is 140 ft wide and 105 ft tall.
Moki did not follow me to the top. That was good it was too steep for her. She was going crazy down below while I checked out the arch. I finally came down because I was really worried she was about to climb up. Crazy dog!
We were there while the sun was starting to set and experienced some great lighting.
It really is a beautiful place.
The sun was setting when we got back to the parking lot.
 Such a beautiful evening!
We got back to camp and it was DARK. We were worn out. We cleaned up and went to bed. Sunday morning we picked up camp and then headed home so we could get to church. It was a great weekend trip.

Best part of my day!

Ever since Audrey was born Sam has sent me and my mom a picture of her everyday. It is absolutely the best thing in the world. I hope he never stops, although he goes back to work soon so it will probably end then. I love getting these texts everyday. Here are a few of my favorites so far.

This one is with an outfit I got her because I saw it and knew she couldn't live through the summer without it. SOMEONE PLEASE STOP ME!!!! She looks so cute in it.
 She is such a beauty.
 Side sleeper.
 I can't even!
It's crazy how having a new little one in your life can make it so great. It's so fun to watch this little girl grow and change. Keep the pictures coming Sam.

Hamilton

The Broadway musical Hamilton came to Salt Lake. I tried really hard to get tickets for Caleb for his birthday but it didn't happen. That was such a bummer. I knew Caleb loved the music and would really enjoy the show. I was super disappointed it didn't work out. Luckily there was a raffle held multiple times a week for a chance to win two $10 tickets with random seating. Caleb faithfully entered that raffle everyday. On the last Friday the show was playing in Salt Lake he won two tickets!!!! It was the most exciting thing ever. I was now the lucky one because he invited me to go with him.

We left Provo hoping to get to Salt Lake and have dinner. Are plans did not work out. Traffic was CRAZY! We got there right in time to go to the theater, pick up the tickets, and take some pictures.
We lucked out with 2nd row seats centered perfectly. It was awesome.
This was my first time attending Eccles Theater. It was a beautiful venue.
 We were really excited.
It was a long but FUN night. I really enjoyed the show. I was really proud of Caleb for not singing along with the actors, he knows every word to every song. After the show we grabbed some food and headed home. We got home after 1am. Way too late for this old lady. It was totally worth it and so fun to do something like this with Caleb!

Audrey

Audrey is the sweetest little thing! She was born on April 20th. She weighed 8lbs and was 20.5 inches long. She was almost born in the car, but that's not my story to tell! I am so excited to have a little girl living so close to me.

So far she is a great little snuggler. I love holding her. I also can't go near baby girl clothes because I actually have NO self control. She is so beautiful. We all adore her.
