Summer Barbeque

Brooke and Anthony hosted a BBQ. It was actually the Saturday I got home from girls camp. We ate yummy food and then watch We Bought A Zoo once it was dark. I was really tired from camp but it was so fun. I am glad I went. Caleb documented the event and so I am going to post his pictures here.

They have a great backyard for hosting summer activities. It was a fun evening.

Spayed and Strep

I was so tired Sunday after being home. Like so tired. I almost bailed on church but decided I could go sit there. I still had a nagging sore throat. I came home from church and slept and took it pretty easy all day.

Monday Summit got spayed. It was nice to drop her off in the morning. Then I had a dentist appointment, chiropractor appointment and a bunch of errands to run. I was busy. I snuck in a bike ride before I picked her up. I still had a nagging sore throat. She was pretty wiped out on Monday.

Tuesday morning I ditched her and I hiked with Eric and Jacquie Carter. We did are usual 2 mile morning hike. It felt good to hike but I could tell my body was not 100%, and still a sore throat. I ended up going home and sleeping for 5 hours. That was crazy! Once I got up I was still so tired so I laid around all day.

Wednesday I felt a little better. I did not work out but I spent the day getting my house cleaned and all my camping gear put away. I also had a lot of laundry to do. It was busy but I got a lot done. Nancy came down to hang with Summit while I went to mutual.

Thursday I had a terrible sore throat that started in the middle of the night. I skipped my morning hike and took it easy. Ran some errands and biked. My ride really was not great. I only biked 23 miles but I was slow and so tired. My throat was hurting more and more as the day went on. After debating for two hours I finally went to Macey's to get a strep test. The pharmacist and myself thought it would for sure be negative. The only reason I went was because I had had this sore throat for almost a week and it was getting worse not better. I tested positive for strep throat. I am so happy I went and did the test. I am now on an antibiotic and will hopefully feel better soon. It was a long week of not feeling great.

Today Summit and I have just chilled. I slept in and have spent the day updating my blog. Slow days are nice once in a while. My throat is still pretty sore but I am really hoping I am on the mend!

Six Flags

The Friday after camping Sam and Amanda's family hit up six flags. Katelyn and I tagged along as well. It was a very long day but really fun. Sam drove and I was so happy to just be along for the ride.

The park has had reduced hours since covid. LAME! But it was actually kind of nice. We got there when they opened at 11am and stayed until they closed at 7pm. We played non stop from 11-7, we didn't even stop for food.

I didn't take many pictures but it really was a fun day. I am so glad Katelyn joined in on the fun as well.

We grabbed Carl's Junior on the way back to Ben's. I then loaded up my car and headed to Oroville for the night. Summit was there with Nancy and my mom. I didn't get to Oroville until almost midnight. I was so tired. Nancy and I drove back to Utah on Saturday. I was so happy to be home.

Day 4

This morning we really just got up and ate and then packed up camp. We had to be out by noon. I could have stayed one more day but it was great to end it while everyone was still in a great mood. We had all had an awesome time.

Here are some random pictures I liked that are not necessarily from this last day but I want them to have a place here on my blog.

Joel and Seth joined us partway through the trip but did not end up in any of my photos. Autumn also flew out and joined us. It was so fun to have her there. Again I did not document that well. I am so mad I did not get a picture of my grandma with all of her great grandchildren. Man I dropped the ball. Virginia, Pete, My mom, Nancy and my grandma all stayed in a house that very close to Mackerricher. That was great so they could sleep in beds but come and go as they wanted too. We really missed Anthony and Brooke on this trip. Like really missed them. All the kids mentioned multiple times how sad they were that they couldn't join us. It was very sad.

Olivia rode with me as we left Fort Bragg. We headed to Lodi for the night. Dan, Megan, Sam, Amanda and kids also headed there. It was a long drive. We were all exhausted when we finally made it to Lodi. There was only a small incident on the way to Lodi. I had four bikes on my rack so I couldn't see out the rear view window. I totally hit my bike rack on a low rock. It broke the back end of my rack ad I had to put Andrews bike in the car. Luckily I had sent some stuff with Caleb and Ben or I really would have been in trouble. I was so MAD! Thankfully in the long run it really isn't that big of a deal. Lots of showers were needed, laundry had to be done, camping gear put away and food needed to be made. Man it never seems to stop. I loved watching Audrey and Katelyn brush their hair that evening.
I slept so great on Ben and Katie's couch, except I woke up at 2am with a sore throat. I looked for medicine and couldn't find any and I was so tired so I just went back to bed. I was so tired. It had been a long two weeks of traveling.

Fort Bragg Day 3

Another Sunny Fort Bragg day. My worst fear as that it would be cold and rainy the entire time we were there. We really lucked out! This morning we went on an adventure to the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse. I had never been and was excited to try something new. There were two different routes to walk to the lighthouse, a 3/4 mile trail or 1/2 mile on the road. We split into two groups and set off.

Cody took some great pictures on the lighthouse journey.

It was a very nice morning. After Nancy, my mom and I drove through Mendicino City just to see the cute little coastal town. Then it was back to camp for lunch. After lunch some people went to play at Mackerricher beach. I walked down with them but then decided to walk down to 10 mile beach. It is pretty isolated and I enjoyed an awesome 4 mile walk on the beach.

I just love the coast so much. It was such a pleasant walk. Meanwhile the kids at the beach had a great time. I am going to post the pictures Cody took because they make me happy. Kids outside playing with cousins is pure magic.

Cody did a great job of catching all the fun these kids had.

Funny enough right when I was finishing my 4 mile walk these guys were done at the beach. We all walked back to camp together.

One of my favorite pictures from the trip is this shot of Lou biking that Cody took. I love it!

I grabbed my bike and went on a quick evening ride before dinner. Dan and Megan made smash burgers/tacos and they were so delicious. I went to bed early because I had the worst headache. It was awful. In the end it was a migraine and I threw up three times during the night. It really was terrible. Luckily it was the last night camping. I actually felt fine the next morning but the night was terrible.
