Girls Camp

Girls camp was great. It is always exhausting but it is also really fun. We had a great group of girls. The biggest group of girls we have ever had since I have been in the Bonneville 11 ward. We went to Mia Shalom. The weather was HOT and it was a good week. Our ward focused on Divine Nature and that was really good for me. I have been struggling to do some of the little gospel things everyday. Camp allowed me to remember the importance of daily habits and to really reflect on what I need to change in my life.

A very short nature walk on Wednesday. I was a little disappointed it wasn't a hike.
The girls were happy it was short.
We made lunch for the stake on Wednesday.
These cute girls woke up at 6am with me so we could hike before the day started!!!!!
 I was so happy.

 We plated trees for service.
These three girls woke up early and hiked with me on Friday.
We hiked almost four miles both days and it felt so good to move our bodies. Camp was a success. It is always stressful beforehand but it was GREAT!!!!

June

School ended but I had to attend district meetings the first Monday and Tuesday of summer. That was rough. I biked both days, which was awesome. I had to wake up early but it was a 18-19 mile, one way bike ride each day. Biking was exhausting but it meant that when I got home I had biked 36-38 miles. That felt great. It was so HOT on the way home both days. The first week of summer I biked 180 something miles and did lots of preparation for girls camp. It was an active and productive week. Sam and Amanda came down on the weekend to hang out and we played with my paddle boards.

Andrew was hilarious to watch!!! he played in the water the entire time we were there. He loved the paddle boards. Seriously so fun.

Poor Andrew and Emerson got hand, foot, and mouth disease. I had never seen it before and it looked terrible. They have pretty much been locked up for two weeks because of it. Such a bummer. I can't wait for their quarantine to be over.

The week I went to camp I biked 63 on Monday and Tuesday combined. I am really trying to get in lots of miles this summer. The past two summers I have not bikes as much and this year I want to make up for it.

Since camp I have been busy biking and hiking. today I rested from physical activity and cleaned my house all day. Like really cleaned most of the day. I took everything out of the bathroom, went through it all, and then changed the decor. In August I will have lived in my house 10 years and I was ready for a change in the bathroom. I am happy with it.
I also tackled the backyard. it needed to be weeded. I also added sand to the sand box and added some more white rocks.
 It is ready for visitors!
This week I also had collaboration two days at Lakeridge. I have found ways to keep myself busy. I am enjoying being able to have my own schedule and I love not waking up to an alarm.

Summer is Here

We had to work after Memorial Day, which is always very hard. We had to work Tuesday - Thursday. They were all just end of the school year days. I went to Lagoon again and had an awesome time. I love the people I work with.
Wednesday night my mom and Grandma Brown flew in for a visit. It was a jam packed weekend of family, games and snuggling Audrey.
I took three pictures the entire weekend. Very lame! We had fun though. Andrew and Emerson stayed the night and we played hard all day Saturday.
Thursday we hung out at Dan's, Friday and Saturday we did my house and the Sunday was back at Dans. It is always exhausting and fun getting together with family. I am so glad my mom and grandma could come. It was really nice to visit with them. That was my summer kick off.

I had to work June 4th and 5th. That was a little rough. We had district collaboration. Yesterday was my first full day of summer. It started off great. I am hoping to sneak in lots of biking and a few hiking adventures this year.

Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend Hannah, her husband Miguel, and I went to Escalante. It is a small town in south east Utah. There is lots of outdoor activities to do. It is also very dog friendly, which is what I needed. Oh yeah, Moki came too!!!! It was a pretty exhausting weekend but really really fun.

We left Friday after work. Of course everyone in Utah was trying to leave on vacation so there was a lot of traffic in Utah county. We didn't get to Escalante until dark. We got to our campground and someone was setting up camp in our campground.....WHAT???? So annoying. We had to give them the boot, which was just awkward. Then we set up camp and slept.

Lower Calf Creek Falls is the hike that made me want to go to Escalante. I have seen lots of pictures and it didn't dissapoint. It was a six mile round trip hike to the waterfall. We should have started earlier because it was HOT! But we had a good time.

After the hike we got lunch and then headed to the lake. We spent the rest of the day hammocking and paddle boarding on the lake.

Sunday we got up and went to church. It was a fun Sacrament meeting because all the young men were speaking. They all spoke on the Priesthood. They did a great job and it was fun to hear their country accents.

After church we headed back to the reservoir for a day on the lake. We played on the paddle boards and relaxed for most of the afternoon.

Trying to master the art of pumping up the paddle boards. NOT EASY!
Getting the go pro ready to use.
The go pro can actually sit on the paddle board while you use it. So cool.
It was a beautiful day.
I tried to get Moki comfortable on the paddle board. Not sure that it worked.

After we had played in the water through the heat of the day we cleaned up and headed to hike to Natural Bridge. This was a very easy and fun 4mile out and back hike. We hiked on the trail to the bridge and then hiked back in the river.

The Natural Bridge!!!
It really was a gorgeous evening and a very fun little hike.

We all enjoyed this hike, especially Moki!

After we finished hiking we headed back to Escalante to find food. If you ever go to Escalante my advice is to remember that it is a small town and everything closes early. Like by 9pm. It is still light so you are out hiking and having fun but you will miss dinner!!!!!! There also aren't very many food options.

Monday we woke up, cleaned up, and headed home. I was EXHAUSTED when I got home. It was such a fun little trip. Also important to note: Escalante is worse than the beach with all the sand. We had sand everywhere..

It was a fun Memorial Day weekend and always fun to explore a new place!

Audrey's Dance Recital

How do you win the hearts of all the Brown's? Have the cutest niece ever perform in a dance recital. It was so fun to watch Audreys lit...
