what's up

  • Went to this movie in 3D. It was GREAT! But even more great was that I wore the glasses out of the theater to annoy Dan. We ran into some of his animation buddies. He might have been a little embarrassed but hey I wanted to view the world in 3D!
  • Have called 911 2x in the past 5 days. That is a little much. One was for a teacher and one was for an athlete. I didn't actually make the call , I was the 1st responder, but told someone else to. Yikes!! I realized I need to get a CPR key-chain mask. I don't think I could do CPR on someone without it. Hopefully I never have to find out. One thing you learn in these situations is how you can easily become emotionally detached and just work on helping the victim.
  • Spring in Utah totally plays with your emotions: biking one day, snowshoeing the next
  • I am at parent teacher conferences and I am BORED!! So I bought some new camping gear. Can't wait to try it out.
  • I am coaching track. It hasn't been to bad. I have one set of parents that don't like that I make their kids run before we throw the shot putt but what do you do. Everyone can't always be happy.
  • Spring break is next week and I am going to California. Please no rain. I just want to sleep in and bike. Oh, and visit family and friends!
  • I have already started a countdown to summer (shocking I know), I am just so pumped that I don't have school this summer. It is going to be great.

More American

I feel more American today because last night I went to my first ever caucus meeting. It was interesting to see how it all works. We had to vote on tons of people because there were lots that wanted to be involved. It was all a little weird because I still felt like I was voting for people I didn't know. . . Oh wait, that is because I didn't know any of them. I had seen a few of them in the neighborhood but that was it. So I did what any junior high student would do and voted based on how they looked and how they dressed and who seemed most popular. Just kidding but that would have been awesome and hilarious.

just dreaming . . . .

of SUMMER!! I can't wait for summer. I am already starting to plan all I want to do and time just seems too short. How will I do all that I want. Kayak, backpack, hike, bike, play tennis, visit family and friends.

And I may be dreaming of this jacket.

It is soooo cute. There are three colors and I enjoy all of them. How might I be able to justify it?

Oh and I have visions of the rack I want for the top of my car. It will be awesome. No more kayaks flying off on the highway. It will be custom built. I think I might just do that with my track money instead of buying this

I know what your thinking . . . . but hey a girl can dream!

bday pics

While in Vegas for my bday Katie and I hit up our favorite shopping spots. As always I didn't buy anything the first day and then we had to make a quick trip back to some stores before I left town on Monday because I decided I really did want the pants I had tried on. (I love the pants).

This is the dessert they brought me at the restaurant for my birthday. It was sooooo good. I promise Katie had a couple of bites. The way I look at it calories don't count on your birthday!

BEST NEWS

As I was ending first period today and I was telling the students what we would be doing the rest of the week and the conversation went down like this:

Student: Ms. Brown there is no school on Friday

Me: Really, do I have to come to school

Student: No everyone has the day off

Me: AWESOME!! That is the best news ever that just made my day, maybe even my week

(Students now looking around thinking I might be crazy as I continue talking)

Me with arms raised in the air: I just love holidays! Vacation days are the best.

I might have gone on and on and on. But you know finding out you have a four day work week when you were not even expecting it is just awesome. I am still really excited. I should look at my calendar more often:)

Last full week of summer . . . . tell me it isn't so

I have had a great summer. A good balance of being home and being on trips. I do wish all the home hadn't all been at once and all the t...
