Timp

Yesterday I was supposed to hike Timp with Eric and Jacqui Carter. We have had it on the calendar for months. Unfortunately they had a funeral they had to attend so we needed to push back the date. I had set the goal to hike Timp twice this year because I missed last year. I hiked it in July with Erica and still needed on more time. We decided we would try again on October 8th. I didn't want to wait that long because the weather becomes a real challenge in October and it is so unpredictable. Amber was available and willing so we decided to hike it yesterday. We started early and had a great day on the mountain. It was so crowded but everything went perfectly. It took us 8.5 hours to complete the hike. Not too bad. Moki also came and did awesome. I made her carry her own water and everyone LOVED her on the trail. I don't think a single person passed us without commenting on how great she is. She really is great, especially when hiking. She was made for it.

It was really cold when we started. We started in the dark and it just got colder as we climber higher. It was nice when we finally got into the sunshine. We didn't get to sunshine until the meadow. It is the time of year where everything is dead from summer but the fall colors haven't really started. It wasn't really that pretty but it was a good day temperature wise.

Moki is so old but she still is such a great hiker. I hate watching her get older. Luckily she still loves days like this. Although she has slept all day today.
Amber and Moki on the way down.
We had to park 3/4 mile away from the trailhead. It's always a bummer to add extra mileage to such a long hike. I am a little stiff today but seriously no complaints. It was a great day hiking!

Family Dinner

Sunday after the wedding I was hoping to have grandma, Lou, Jan, Virginia, and my mom over for a nice Sunday brunch. I woke up Sunday morning to a very quiet house, this was cause for concern because Aaron, Jacklyn and Tyla were staying with me. I checked my phone and learned they had spent the night in the ER because poor Tyla had spiked a fever in the night. Tyla had been feeling off all day Saturday. She slept a ton. She was also throwing up any time they fed her. They got home just before 8am. They were exhausted and Tyla still looked sick. I cancelled brunch at my house and moved it to Virginia's Air bnb. Aaron, Jacklyn and Tyla were able to have a quiet house and I picked up my mom on my way to the rental.

It was a lovely morning. We ate a yummy breakfast that Lou ended up cooking. We spent the morning and afternoon playing games and visiting. I loved it so much. This summer my one regret after our family reunion was that I was so busy planning/preparing/organizing I didn't really get to spend a lot of time visiting with people. This made up for that.

I didn't get a picture with Lou. . . . dang it.
Then in the afternoon we started preparing dinner and my siblings and their families started arriving. Ben and Katie had already headed back to California. Dan and Megan were honeymooning but everyone else came. Brooke even brought her parents which was so fun. We had a yummy lasagna dinner. Super easy but good. Then we spent the evening playing more games.

I didn't take many pictures. Anthony being sad, he was probably losing at the game:)
Tyla was thankfully feeling much better. This was the only picture of her I got all weekend where she was actually smiling.
Unfortunately sometime after dinner my grandma had a medical emergency. She fell asleep playing a game and we couldn't wake her up. It was really scary. I was so impressed that everyone handled the situation so well. We were able to get her on the floor. Take her vitals and keep her safe until help arrived. It was really really scary but I feel so blessed that it all worked out in the end. She spent the night in the hospital. All the California Browns missed their flights and then drove home Monday in a rental car. Well they drove part of the way home and then finished on Tuesday. I am so grateful they made the effort to come and I am so grateful everything turned out ok with my grandma.

Luncheon and Reception

After the temple we headed to the reception center to set up the luncheon. The day really was non-stop. We got everything set up and ready for food at 1:30. There were lots of people at the luncheon and it was really nice and fun. I didn't take any pictures.

After the luncheon we started setting up for the reception. We kind of hung out at the center all day. I did sneak away to make a Costco run for Sunday dinner.

The reception was LONG but so fun. Receptions just bring people together and it was so fun to see so many people I know and love. There were lots of Oroville people that came, the Browns that came from California, lots of my Utah relatives, and so many of Dan's college friends that I know. It was one big party. It was also so fun to just hang with family.

We hung out until 9 and then we stayed and cleaned until 10. It was a very long day. I was so exhausted when I drove home, but so thankful. It really is a beautiful time to bring people together.

Caleb's wedding day pictures

Caleb brought his camera to the temple and was able to capture some great pictures of everyone. He did a great job and I am excited to have these family pictures.

Everyone was dressed so nice and looked so good. Poor Tyla was definitely not feeling well. Aaron and Jacklyn left before we got the picture of my mom and the grandkids. So sad. I will treasure these pictures forever.

Dan and Megan Brown

The day was finally here!!!! I haven't been so excited for a day in a long time. My entire family was here along with some extended family. It was a beautiful, wonderful day. Everything seemed to go so well. There were some small glitches but nothing major. All my siblings were in the temple together. Such a beautiful experience. I am so happy for Dan. We love Megan so much. It is so fun to add another wonderful woman to the family. Here is the picture overload. We will start with a cute individual picture of all my nieces and nephews. These people make up almost my entire world. They all looked so good for the wedding.

Here are a few shots outside the temple while we waited for Dan and Megan.

Emerson looked so handsome and grown up. I never see him in church clothes or with his hair done. I didn't recognize him. So hndsome.

Andrew asked if he could photobomb Anthony and Brooke:)
This poor baby was so sick. She is still a beauty even when she doesn't feel great.

Audrey was so excited. Her little shrill when she saw Megan in her wedding dress was so precious. She was made for this wedding:)

Megan's dress was so gorgeous.
My grandma came! So did jan, Lou and Virginia. They met us at the temple for pictures. It was so nice of them to come.
All my brothers. How did they all grow up so fast?

The morning was so perfect. I was functioning on very little sleep but I wouldn't change the way this morning went. I am so excited to see the pictures the photographer took. They hired one of Dan's friends and she does such an amazing job. Can't wait!

Audrey's Dance Recital

How do you win the hearts of all the Brown's? Have the cutest niece ever perform in a dance recital. It was so fun to watch Audreys lit...
