Some Randomness

One thing that has been fun about the world being shut down is that we have been communicating a lot more as a family. It is fun to see what everyone is doing and to check in on everyone. Ben is teaching and playing lots of games with his kids.
Moki wore her fancy Easter handkerchief for the holiday.
I gave Amanda some material. There was some leftover RSL material. I knew Andrew would love it. With Amanda's help he made a pillowcase. I seriously love how excited he is in this picture.
Audrey in the cute Easter dress I got for her. This girl is darling.
My mom came to Utah. She was also quarantining alone. So she drove out here and has been hanging out at Loralie's. It has been fun to see her occasionally. Sam and Amanda finally let us come hang out with the kids. I missed them so much. We had an outdoor dinner and then went to a football field and played. It was a lovely evening.

Sunday I got out on the shoreline trail for a nice walk with Moki. The weather was amazing.
After the walk I worked on dinner. My family came over and we did an outside dinner. It was great. We visited and threw around a football. It was nice to be together but still spread out. Audrey seemed to enjoy the dessert the most:)
I am grateful I have been able to see my family the past week. It has made this time so much easier. i am still trying to be careful and diligent but having them in my life physically makes it so much better. Here's to hoping we get a somewhat normal summer.

I bought a car?!?!?!?!

I bought a car. I didn't need a car but interest rates were so low and I had a down payment saved I decided to do it. It has been 11 years since I last bought a car and I now remember the car buying process is actually terrible. I hate it. This time I test drove lots of different cars which made the process longer and the decision harder. I spent way too much time researching cars. LIKE WAY TOO MUCH TIME:) In the end I stuck with the CRV because my car has been so great!

I sold my old car to Dan. Moki and I took one more ride to the car wash.
It was actually sad to day goodbye to that car. It has been so many places and has been so good to me. I hope it continues to be great for Dan.

The only picture I have of my new white CRV. It is a great car and I am excited. It is so more high tech. we will see if I like that.I also am not excited about having a car payment again. BOOOO!!!!
Overall I am happy. Hopefully it runs as well and as long as my old one did.

The Corona Life

We are six weeks into the quarantine life. That is so crazy. Driving back from Vegas after our girls trip I was naive enough to think we would do online school for a couple of weeks and then life would be normal again. LIFE IS NO WAY NEAR NORMAL!!!!!! It may never be the "old" normal again. Seriously so so crazy.

The first three weeks of quarantine I was very diligent. No one came into my house. I hiked with a couple of people (Amber, Jacqui, and Randall) and that was pretty much it.I got together with Randall, Stephanie, and Katie for the sacrament each Sunday as well. It is crazy to really close your self off from the world. Thankfully we can still go outside. If I couldn't have been hiking and biking I think I would have gone crazy!

Online school has been a HUGE adjustment. I had to learn how to use canvas. It wasn't too terrible but there are still a couple of new things that frustrate me each week. I have quite a few students not doing anything. It is such a big adjustment for everyone involved. In the beginning of online learning I was spending a ton of time each week planning, grading, and creating. Thankfully that has gotten easier and it feels more manageable. There are so many things to grade with it being online. That has probably been the hardest thing. We are now six weeks into online learning. We have four more to go. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is called SUMMER!

Amber and I went up to the Alpine Loop during quarantine. There was still lots of snow. It was beautiful!

The first part of the Quarantine in march it was still too cold to bike and so I hiked a lot. I hiked some times with Amber, Jacqui and Randall but I also hiked a ton on my own with Moki.

We went up Slate Canyon lots.

The first couple weeks I was worried for Moki. We were getting out in the morning and evening and she was sooo tired. She is used to sleeping all day.
I went up Rock Canyon a couple of times and I have been up above the Y a few times as well.
Most evenings in March I would pick a section of the Bonneville shoreline trail to walk. It is so nice having so many options close to where I live.
Amber and I were supposed to go to Portugal for Spring Break. That didn't happen and was a little disappointing. I spent the week hiking, biking and sewing. I left my sewing mess out all week and actually was able to get quite a bit accomplished.

Moki laying on one of the tops I pieced together, I bought the bike material years ago so it was nice to get it sewn together.
I completed three other little quilts I had started and never finished. Sometimes finishing a project can be so challenging. I love how they turned out and am excited to gift them to different people.

After Spring break it has started to slowly warm up. I have been loving the time on my bike. i just love to bike. It is so easy on my joints and I feel great after. I have been able to get over 100 miles every week since spring break. i have even snuck in some longer rides.
This is one of my favorite views from my bike. It is up on the south fork road after you turn around. it is a great shot of Timpanogos.
The only bummer this biking season is that I have had 10 flat tires. That is seriously some kind of crazy record. 9 of the 10 have been on my back tire. Are you freaking kidding me? It is driving me crazy but I am still getting out.

I am really ready for life to be normal again. I have really felt isolated during this time. That has been really hard. i love living alone and have never felt lonely but I am not usually home very much. Being home alone all the time has been really challenging. I am thankful it is not for forever. Can't wait to be around more people soon.
