Utah Adventrues

Once I got over strep throat I was able to start living my best Utah summer life. I have had the chance to hike and bike with lots of different people. I have really enjoyed being outdoors. The end of July is quickly approaching and the weather has been sooooo HOT!!!! That has limited my time outdoors but I am still able to get in a good morning and/or evening workout.

Amber had the beginning of the 4th of July week off work. We took advantage and did a bunch of hiking. Monday we did Horsetail Falls. It was beautiful. So much water coming off of the falls this year.

Tuesday (the 4th of July) Erica and Jacquie Carter, Amber, Randall and I hiked from Tibblefork up to Silver Lake. We started early and enjoyed a great morning hike. Almost 11 miles.

After the hike I relaxed and then that evening I went to Loralie's for a barbecue. It was a nice and relaxing day after the hike.

Wednesday Amber and I got up early and hiked Lake Blanche. That is a beautiful hike. We had the trail all to ourselves on the way up. I don't have any pictures but it was a great day hiking.

Friday of the same week I hiked with Lori Atoa (friend from work) and Melissa Clayton (I taught and coached her kids.) It was so fun to hike up rock canyon with them.

We had a great time. The following Friday we met up again and hiked the Y. It is always great to get up early during the summer. I don't want to do it but I feel great when I do.

Eric and Jacquie Carter and I have still been trying to hike Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I love doing that. I have been pretty flaky on Thursdays. I am usually feeling pretty worn out by the end of the week.

Amber and I have done a couple of 40 mile bike rides, which have been awesome. I have also been trying to bike a lot more on my own. Most of my biking has been on my commuter bike because I can still bring Summit. I can easily do 30 miles with her in tow now. It is a great workout! She is used to the bike and really seems to enjoy it and so that makes it really fun.

Sam, Amanda and kids invited me to Tibblefork to paddle board one Saturday. The water there is so stinking cold! It is also so crowded. I had biked 40 miles earlier in the day so I was feeling tired but I am so glad I went. I got to visit with Sam, practice taking ice baths in the freezing water, paddle board with Emmerson and watch the kids play. It was a nice afternoon.
Jeneca Beasley texted me and we met up to paddle board at Deer Creek. We had the most perfect morning. I got up extra early and went and biked the trail that runs parallel to the lake. I really enjoy that trail and so I wanted to bike since I was in the area. I met Jeneca at 8am. We had a beautiful Monday morning on the lake with her daughter Leah. Very little traffic and the water was amazing.
It was so fun to catch up with Jeneca. Hopefully we make more of an effort to see each other more.

Anthony, Brooke, Caleb and my self met up and toured the Saratoga Springs temple. It was really pretty. Caleb is to thank for making that happen. It was a fun evening.

Jana and I were able to bike one morning. Then we sat in her hot tub. That was amazing. I couldn't stay as long as I wanted because I had summer collaboration . . . boo. I did that for three days. Brittani Pugmire was in town and invited me to play basketball one morning. That was fun.

Megan Brown wanted to get a bike. She came down to Provo and we spent an afternoon bike shopping. I helped her get a bike that I hope will work great for her.
I love bike shopping so that was a dream for me.

Katie Ricord, Megan and I did a lunch and game afternoon. That was really fun. It was nice to just visit, eat yummy food and play games.

I got a bike on KSL for Andrew and spent a few days fixing it up. That was actually a really fun project that I really enjoyed. I watched lots of you-tube tutorials in order to learn some new skills.

Andrew, Emmerson and I biked 10 miles one morning. Both boys did amazing. Then we went back to their house and went for a swim.

I have mountain biked a few times with Randal. That is always a very hard workout. Summit loves to come with us and just run. She is so funny and turning out to be a great dog.
I had Hannah and her boys over for dinner. I hadn't seen her all summer because I was gone all of June. It was fun to catch up and visit for an evening.

I was supposed to hike Mount Whitney tomorrow. Due to all the snow on the mountain we decided not to hike. I know that is the correct decision but I am still bummed. I really would like to complete that hike. It just wasn't in the cards this year.

I got Summit a life jacket and hiking backpack I have been dying to have her use. She is so adorable in them. This week I should be able to make the life jacket happen:)
Jana let me come and bug her while she was packing for her upcoming family trip. It was fun to catch up. She is so busy with her kids schedule and I was gone all of June I haven't seen her much. Summit and Lambaeu played so hard the entire time. Finally I put them both in the crate because they are crazy. They were very cute in the crate.

My mom got to town on Thursday. I hung out with her, Nancy and Loralie yesterday. It was fun. They are all so fun to be around. I will try and soak up some mom time the next few weeks before school starts. I can't believe summer is almost over . . . so sad!
