Snow, Snow, Snow

Basketball has started. I am excited about my team this year. They are great girls. I am excited to get to work with them. Time flies when basketball starts. I was soooooo tired the first week. I think I am finally starting to adjust. We have a lot of work to do but so far it has been good.

Thanksgiving was awesome. I didn't take any pictures which is seriously the lamest. My mom came to town last Saturday. Sam and Amanda's kids and I picked her up from the airport and slept at  my house. We all went to church the next morning and then met at Loralie's for dinner. It was nice to hang out with family. My mom stayed at Loralie's because I had to work the beginning of the week. Then I went up and stayed two nights Wednesday after basketball. We had great food and company. It was a nice couple of days. All the single Browns were here for Thanksgiving with my mom, Nancy, Loralie, Curt and Katie. I have so much to be grateful for. My health, job, family and friends are at the top of the list. I am so blessed. We also got our fist snow over Thanksgiving and it was gorgeous.

Today Amber and I were able to hike up Rock Canyon to the campground. The weather was perfect, the snow amazing. It was the perfect first winter trip.
It was snowing like crazy when we started.
By the time we got to the campground the storm had passed and it was all blue skies.

Moki was in heaven. There was a little incident with her. She ran up behind me and her foot got caught between my heel and my snowshoe. She yelped like her foot got cut off. Poor puppy. Then she ran away. I ended up hiking way back up for her and still no sign of her. She finally caught up to me and Amber. She was covered in snowballs. Her foot was fine it looked like she had a little side adventure chasing the deer. My dog is CRAZY!!!!
It was a great morning. I took an awesome post hike nap. I spent the rest of the day doing chores and trying to get ready to go back to work. So sad the vacation is over. Real life must go on!

Fall Favorites

I should blog more often and then I wouldn't be trying to catch up five months worth of stuff in one evening:)

Andrew, Emerson, and I went to pick peaches at Loralie's one Saturday after their soccer games. They were great little helpers.
Also Emerson seriously is the cutest.

Katie and Parley came to Park City. Than, Erica and I went up and met them for dinner. It was a really nice evening. Good friends and good food.
This adorable little boy was so excited to go to his first BYU football game. I didn't go but I had dinner with him before.
I adore Andrew. He has so much excitement for life and I LOVE it!
I finally got my dream 4 man tent. These three helped me set it up and then played in it. It was a fun Sunday afternoon.
Audrey is the cutest little girl.

Sam sends me pictures sometimes and I LOVE it.
I went to Andrew and Emerson's primary program. Emerson would not participate. Andrew did great. He sang a solo and did a speaking part.
 It was a great Sabbath.
Andrew, Emerson and I went to Disney on Ice. It was so stinking fun. They loved it and so did I. I love spending time with these boys.
 Andrew with his birthday puzzle.
Moki is the best little traveler. She does so great in the car and it makes it so easy to travel with her.
I took my class hiking. It was awesome. We hiked to Stewart Falls. I loved it. It was the best day.

Fall Break in Susanville

This year I went to visit Aaron and Jacklyn in Susanville for Fall Break. It was a great trip. I loved Susanville. It is a beautiful small town nestled in the mountains. I loved hiking and biking and visiting with Aaron and Jacklyn. My mom also came up and visited for the weekend. We made a little drive to Redding to see Virginia, Cody and Jen. We also got to meet Asher, Cody's son.

It was really nice to drive to Susanville instead of Oroville. It is an hour and a half shorter which was so nice.

The first morning I woke up and went on an awesome bike ride. It was super windy but beautiful. I love biking in new places. It is the best.
The views of amazing. I realized real quick I could live in Susanville.
I got back to Aaron and Jacklyns and we hopped in their truck and went for a hike. Seriously is there a better way to spend a day. They have so many hiking trails right outside their front door. I love it!
Then we headed to Reno so they could do their shopping. That took up the rest of the day.

The next morning we woke up and hiked again. Fall was definitely in the air. I loved all the trails by their house.
A couple of GROUPIES.
Moki was in heaven.
Aaron and I also rode mountain bikes while the dogs ran. We raked leaves, made food, shopped and waited for my mom to come.
Saturday we went to Burney Falls on the way to Redding. It was so pretty and a nice little detour. I haven't been there since I was 9.

The falls are beautiful.
The hike was very short but a good way to stretch our legs.
We took a wrong turn on our way there and got to see this awesome dam.
I wish I had taken pictures of the people we saw in Redding. It was so fun to stop in and visit Virginia and company. We hung out at Cody's for a while and then went to Virginias and played a few games.

I woke up Sunday and drove back to Utah. It was a nice fall break and I was grateful to Aaron and Jacklyn for letting me come visit.

Cross Country

Cross country is so fun to coach. It is hard because it starts the very first day of the school year. I start off the year exhausted but I am so glad I coach. The girls are amazing and work so hard. They are all really great girls and they make coaching so fun.

The weather was great for most of the season. The girls ran amazing!
Of course the day of the district meet it was 20 degrees and seriously so cold. The girls still ran awesome.

The seventh grade girls that ran in the district meet.
The eighth grade girls that ran in the district meet.
The picture does not allow you to realize how freezing it was.
We had a great season and the girls and boys all ran great.

The Great Outdoors

I had a wonderful fall. I was able to be active outside with so many different people. I enjoyed lots of hiking and biking. The weather finally cooled and fall was awesome this year!

Jeneca Beasley and I biked the WOW trail in Midway. This was a mountain biking trail. It was quite the adventure. We covered 13ish miles.

The ride was great until I got a flat. I was unprepared and didn't have a way to fix it. So thus started the not so fun part of our adventure, I had to run my bike off the mountain. We got back 30 minutes after dark. Not the best ending but I want to try the trail again. We had fun! Also Jeneca is way better at biking than me:)

Hannah and I hiked Stewart Falls. Once with my students, which was awesome, and another evening after work. The fall colors were awesome.
 Moki loves hiking!
Anthony and I also made it up to Silver Lake. It was a gorgeous fall Saturday. We hiked from the parking lot to the lake in 55 minutes. We were cruising. It was a fun evening.

I love Silver Lake in the fall. It was an awesome evening!!!

Moki and I also hiked up Slate Canyon several evenings after cross country practice. I love how close it is and that it is such a great workout!
The snow fell early in the mountains. There was a clashing of the seasons. We didn't let it stop off from going up there as often as we could.
I got to go on a couple of bike rides with Andrew. He is a good little bikes. I love biking with him!
Fall is so beautiful in Utah.
I also took on a challenge offered by the Provo Recreation Center. It was to bike 300 miles in part of October and November. I am glad I did the challenge. It challenged me to get my bike out when I had pretty much put it away. I got to bike with Julia Stanger, Amber Ellis and Jeneca Beasley. I loved adventuring so much in the fall!
