July: Part 1

Catching up on the blog is always hard, but it has to happen. I spent all of July in California at my parents. Most my siblings came to visit the beginning of July. We spent our days playing and also trying to sneak in visits to see my dad.

We all swam as often as could because the week they boys were all in California it was in the 100's all week.
Kevin and Liz Robertson were nice enough to let us use their pool when they were out of town.
It felt so good to just cool off.

And Kaitlyn is such a doll.

We also celebrated Braxtons birthday while everyone was in town.
Ben and Katie reserved the pavilion the church owns in Lodi for the celebration. It was so PERFECT!!! There was shade and tables for the adults and lots of space for kids to run. We could hook up water and so the kids loved playing. It was a great location.

It was so nice that so many of our extended family made the trip to celebrate as well.

Unfortunately that week my dad also ended up having to be hospitalized for low blood pressure. Couldn't have a drama free family trip. We spent an entire afternoon in the ER in Sacramento waiting to see what was going on.
It was a scary few days but everything checked out ok. I hate hospitals but it was a lot more fun being there with my brothers. They are good at having fun wherever they are, no matter the circumstances.

We also had a beach day in Santa Cruz. It ended up being overcast and a little chilly but it was a great break from the heat in the valley. We were all so tired we just kind of sat around and visited this day.

On the way back to Oroville we stopped at the hospital and saw dad. We were showing him pictures of the kids and he decided to copy Olivia.

The week everyone was in town was so fun but so tiring. I didn't get much exercise and we definitely ate way too much. Lots of games were played in the evenings as well. It was a little different vacation because of the circumstances but it is always fun to be with these people.
