Lake Powell

The Turley family in my ward was so nice and invited me and some other singles in our ward to join them on a trip to Lake Powell. I had never been and was so excited. I feel like everyone in Utah always goes to Lake Powell and I had never been. It was so fun and so nice of them to invite us. We met them at Wahweap marina and set out to Padre Bay where they had the house boat anchored. The trip out to the house boat was CRAZY!!!!! There was a storm and there were actual waves on the water and lightning. It was insane. We were all drenched because so much water was coming onto the boat. It was an adventure. It was beautiful! Once we got to the houseboat I got really excited. The first night we got settled in, had a great dinner and then some other people were letting off fireworks. It was so fun to sit up high on a rock and watch fireworks in the dark. So fun!

The sunset from the houseboat on the first night was AMAZING!

The next day we just spent time riding wave runners and playing in the morning. I also got up and went on a short little hike by myself. It is so fun to explore a new area.

Unfortunately during the day on Monday we hit some big waves again and Kylie Turley hurt her neck in the boat. Because it was her neck we decided to take the house boat back to the marina so she could get to the hospital and get checked out. Luckily it was just whiplash, obviously still very painful, but it could have been a lot worse. We decided to just keep the houseboat at the marina and we enjoyed that area of Lake Powell for the rest of our stay.

We had to run into town and so we went over and say horseshoe bend. It is such a pretty spot.

We had so much fun on the boat and wave runners. It is such a fun place to explore.

It was such a fun trip. The Turley's were so nice to invite us to come with them. The last night we watched a movie on the deck of the house boat. I also enjoyed sleeping under the stars on the deck of the house boat. Kylie prepared a fabulous menu, we ate yummy and nutritious food. It was a fun three day get away!

Emerson's Birthday

Sam and Amanda were going to be in Idaho for Emerson's birthday and so we decided to have a party a few days early. It was so fun. We had dinner at my house, played games, opened presents and then went mini golfing. I think Emerson had a great time. He was so excited to open presents!

I used a gift card I had to get him an ice cream cake from coldstone. It was actually really delicious.
We all chipped in and got him a slack line ninja course. I think he really liked it. His parents came up big by getting him a hover board. He was so excited! It was so cute/fun to watch him play.
He got monopoly deal so we had to play a few rounds before we went mini golfing.
Audrey was obsessed with the ribbon Nancy put on her present. She let me put it in her hair. She looked so cute.
We had so much fun mini golfing. I can't remember the last time I mini golfed. We laughed a lot.
Emerson had a great party and it was so fun to celebrate him.

First Sister In Law Hike

Anthony, Brooke and I had been talking about hiking Silver Lake for a long time but we could never get our schedules to line up. Finally I told Brooke we should just go without him:) This was at a Sunday dinner and so we also invited Megan and Amanda to join us. We settled on a day and made it happen! I was so excited to have an evening with these ladies. The only bummer was that we couldn't start until Brooke was finished with work, so it was late by the time we got to the trailhead. We knew we would be hiking some in the dark and so we were prepared.

We were greeted with a beautiful double rainbow at the start of the hike. We also had a little rain off and on. It was a really cool evening in the mountains which was nice because it has been so hot in Utah this summer.

I love these ladies so much and am so glad they are all a part of my family!

The hike ended up taking us a quite a long time but we had so much fun. I felt like I was smiling the entire time because it was so nice to spend time with these girls without my brothers around:) We were so late getting back that we had everyone worried. Luckily we were safe and had so much fun. We decided we need to make girls night a more regular thing.

Sam and Amanda's Kids

My mom was in town for a couple of weeks at the beginning of July. She stayed with me and we spent time visiting lots of different people. We had Sam and Amanda's kids for a few days starting on July 4th. The morning of the fourth my mom did the parade with Sam and Amanda and kids.

Then we hung out at my house and had a bbq at Dan's. My mom and I brought the kids back to my house with us. We got home just as my neighbors were doing fireworks.

On the 5th we started the day biking/jogging/walking the Provo River Trail. All the kids were on bikes, I jogged with Audrey and my mom walked. We went almost 3 miles. Audreys little legs were soooo tired. The kids all did awesome.

Emerson climbed a HUGE tree.

Audrey was so cute. She woke up and had her swimsuit on before I was out of bed. She was so excited to swim later in the day. It was so funny.
They are doing construction on the trail so we had to turn around at this point.

There is a fun little stop with a tire swing and a regular swing. We let Audrey rest her little legs and played here for a while.
Emerson or Audrey, I can't remember who, found a heart shaped leaf. So cute!
We stopped at a splash pad on the way home so the kids could cool off. Then we had lunch and headed to the rec center. The kids and I stayed until it was almost closing time. They swam and played so hard. We were all exhausted by the time we got home and back to my house. Everyone slept great!

The next morning we took the kids up to Bridal Veil Falls. This is an easy walk. The kids climbed and played in the water for a while. It was a nice morning activity.

After Bridal Veil Falls we went to Costco to grab some pizza. I had to document the fact that Audrey let me do her hair everyday, nothing short of a miracle!

We took the pizza to the park by the rec center so the kids could play. Emerson had been asking to try out the park. It was so hot but we endured the heat for an hour while the kids played. We did some screen time after that. We had an early dinner so we could head back to the rec center and swim. The kids really enjoyed the rec center. We had a great time. My mom joined us this time as well.

Amanda came and got the kids early the next morning because they had dentist appointments. It was a fun couple of days. My mom and I were tired but I always love spending time with those kids.
