We woke up and got on the road early on July 2nd. We were headed to Willits, a true day of rest. We were excited. Air conditioning, laundry, vegetables, a bed. It was also supposed to be another scorcher so we were motivated to beat the heat.
We stopped in Laytonville to get food and at a rest stop to refill water bottles. That was it.
It was a 43 mile day and we finished by 11am, I think. It was so great to be in Willits. It was such a nice day. Eating normal food, visiting with family, playing games, taking a shower, doing laundry. It was an awesome mid-week break. Jan and Lou were so gracious and we really appreciate their hospitality. It was hard knowing we had to get back on the road the next day.
