Waterton National Park

Glacier National Park and Waterton National Park are kind of the same thing but in different countries. We looked up where to go to church and the closest ward met in Canada. It was closer by 50 miles so we rearranged are plans and did Waterton a day early. Church wasn't until 10:30 so we had plenty of time to get there. We drove slow and stopped for pictures on the way.

We saw a wolf on our drive to church. So cool!
The lady at the border was super RUDE and grouchy so our first taste on Canada was not great. We got over it though.
Our first view of the mountains in Canada. So beautiful.
As we were driving in the park we saw a lot of cyclists. One was stopped with binoculars and Hannah asked me what he was looking at. I said bear! She didn't believe me at first and kept driving and then she spotted it and we backtracked to watch the little guy play. He/She was pretty close to the road.
We went to Sacrament meeting and then decided we maybe needed a break from hiking and decided to rent bikes for the day. Best decision. It was such a fun place to bike around. We pretty much saw the entire town and a lot of the park on the bikes.
I love seeing new places by bike. I loved loved loved this day.
The scenery was amazing.

We ended our bike ride by heading to the Waterton Lake Resort Lodge. It is a gorgeous building on a hill overlooking the lake.
It gave us a great view of the valley.
Such a pretty place.
Then we turned in our bikes and drove to red rock canyon and did a little hike along the river and then another short hike to a waterfall.
The waterfall hike had these cool little lookout cages.
It was a nice easy stroll.
Then we drove to Cameron Lake to check it out before we headed back to Montana.
Our day in Waterton was a success. It was a nice break from hiking and it was fun to do something different.
Someday I want to go back because there are a couple of hikes in this area that I am really interested in but we got to see a ton of the park in one day with what we did and that was great.

Canada was good to us.
 And then back to Montana.
