Three Falls

A co-worker told me about a hike in Aline I had never hiked before, three falls. I knew I wanted to try it. Erica had an available evening and so we met up and hiked it with our dogs. We hiked pretty fast because we were running out of daylight. It was a beautiful evening with amazing views. It was a great workout.

Summit loves hiking with Archie. We stopped to take a selfie:)

The flowers were almost done being in bloom so the hike was good timing. After the hike we sat in Erica's hot tub . . . . that was the best way to end the night.

I have been wanting to invite teachers to go on a hike. Logan Crim, the science teacher that told me about the hike, and myself decided to organize a hike on the last day of school. We went and hike three falls. We had a great time. This hike is nice because it does not have crazy steep uphill sections. It is pretty mild. The flowers were everywhere. We also had some cloud cover, which was really nice.

We had a great time. It was a good reminder that I need to organize more activities like this with people from work. Jim Romrell brought his 6 year old daughter Susie and she and Summit had a great time.

The last day of school was really hard this year. We have five long time Lakeridge teachers retiring: Julia Stanger, Karen Schlosser, Rachel Gonzalez, Pam rock and Al Oquendo. I was actually really emotional at the faculty meeting to send them off. That surprised me, although it should not have. I have worked with and loved these people for 18 years. I consider them good friends. I can't imagine Lakeridge Junior High without them. It is so weird. They have taught me so much and I am truly blessed to have crossed paths with each of them. Julia and Karen came on the hike so that was fun. I am sure I will see them around but goodbyes are always hard.

MOAB!

Dan and Megan wanted to go on a camping trip to try out all their new gear. We finally found a weekend that worked and headed to Moab in May, the weekend before memorial day. We left Friday after work, the Spanish Fork canyon was closed and so it took a really long time to get to camp. I finally tucked in Audrey around 12:30am on Saturday. We brought Audrey and Emerson. It was exhausting but it was a good time.

Audrey camping is a vibe:) This girl has so much personality.

Dan was a champion and did all the cooking. Seriously he is the best! After breakfast Saturday morning we headed to Canyonlands National Park.

We went to the visitor center and checked out all the information and then hiked Mesa Arch. Audrey and Emerson both told me the hike was boring because it was too easy, yet they had no desire to do anymore hiking.
We checked out a couple vista points since we were in the park.

Emerson loves to climb. Audrey was happy to try and tag along as he climbed rocks.
Pretty flowers in the spring desert.
The start of the hike. Audrey was killing me with her outfit. She has so much personality.

We all made it to the arch. It was a pretty mild morning for the desert so that was nice.
I took this picture of Audrey when she woke up Saturday morning. I had transferred her to the tent because it was so late and she was sleeping. She had no memory of it. She was dirty and in her clothes from the day before. I love how kids really can sleep anywhere.
After hiking we went back to camp and had lunch. Emerson was not a fan of the driving. After lunch we swam all afternoon. I love the Moab KOA because they have an amazing swimming pool. Audrey swam for three hours straight.

I was hoping to go on an evening hike but there was no interest. I took Summit and we biked 12 miles on the Moab trail. It was a beautiful evening and very enjoyable.
Summit is doing so great in her carrier. She just gets in and sits down. I think she really enjoys it.
I was happy to finally bike on the trail. I have seen it before but never had my bike. It is 16 miles one way. I only biked 6 miles out and then had to turn around. The views were gorgeous. It was a nice night.

Sunday morning we packed up and headed home. It really was fun. Lots of work and I was exhausted but that is how memories are made.

Emerson told Dan and Megan on the way home it was the best trip ever! That is a win in my book.

Summit looking super cute

All of my family left town Saturday after the wedding. That was really nice for me because I had a pretty normal weekend, which I needed. I was able to clean, do laundry, exercise and grocery shop. Sunday was mother's day. I had a really quiet and nice Sunday. In the evening Summit and I went on a walk. The lighting was perfect and I got some super cute pictures of her.

The first one is my favorite. It really just sums up her cute personality, happy. She s a very sweet and happy dog.

She has been doing so great on hikes, walks and bike rides. I really need to buckle down and do some training with her on commands, but she has been a joy to have and get to know.

The wedding reception

Anthony and Brooke had a beautiful venue for their reception. It was at a nursery in Sandy. It turned out so good. There were lots of flowers, good food, good lighting,  and just so pretty. I am just going to dump a bunch of Caleb's photos on here for memories sake.

Emerson, Audrey and Katelyn tore up the dance floor. I had so much fun watching them dance the night away. It was a true highlight. It really was a great evening. It was so fun to have Jan and Lou in town. My mom had some siblings show up to the reception as well: Jerrold, Mike and Linda, Loralie and Nancy.

I also took a some pictures. Not nearly as many as Caleb:)

Jacklyn took this little gem that I love

Weddings are really long days but they are so fun. It was a joy to have everyone together.

Audrey's Dance Recital

How do you win the hearts of all the Brown's? Have the cutest niece ever perform in a dance recital. It was so fun to watch Audreys lit...
